Victoria is the capital of British Columbia, but you won’t find sky scrapers here; instead old church steeples, heritage brick buildings, totem poles and streets landscaped with English style lamp posts and hanging flower baskets dot the city's skyline.

The city's British colonial heritage is still very much in evidence, but present day Victoria is alive with cosmopolitan dining, superb shopping, a colourful nightlife and a full range of cultural offerings.

The gem of Victoria is its Inner Harbour the bustling, vibrant, city "hub" central to many activities. The waterfront is fronted by the BC Parliament Buildings and a two tier pedestrian walkway. Stroll along the lower causeway and enjoy the assortment of street musicians, jugglers and artists that entertain during the sunny days.

The picturesque Inner Harbour is a working marina where floating docks are crowded with yachts, sail boats and water taxis. Here, seaplanes take off on exotic journeys, ferries bring visitors, and boaters bring a wide range of new and heritage pleasure craft.

Victoria has the oldest and most exquisite Chinatown in North America, and is home to the narrowest street in North America, Fan Tan Alley.

Offering Canada's mildest climates with gentle, damp winters and dry mild summers Victoria is a year round tourist destination.
